Your Guide to Understanding Menopause.

Menopause

Perimenopause

Perimenopause is the transitional phase before menopause, marked by hormonal fluctuations causing symptoms such as hot flashes, irregular periods, and mood changes. Women with fibroids may experience worsened symptoms during this phase.

What Is Menopause?

Menopause is defined as the stage when a woman stops menstruating for 12 consecutive months. It typically occurs around age 50 and brings symptoms like vaginal dryness, reduced libido, and joint pain. Although fibroids often shrink after menopause, they can become calcified and cause persistent symptoms.
